The Marshall Class 5 amp is a 5 watt class A power amp. This amp may only be 5 watts but the class A power makes it sound like a 30 watt amp. This amp gets a really *whomp whomp* sound. Sounds amazing with mahogany guitars with humbuckers. You can choose to turn every thing up for that old school blues sound or you can use the treble middle and bass nobs to dial in a nice clean or crunch sound. I personaly love the look of this amp, it has that classic marshall look. The classic gold on black really pop.

The Vox Lil’ Night Train…….. it reminds me of a mail boc full of fire works. It looks nice and small but once you get it going it is ferocious. With only 2 watts of power this amp is able to run full bore with out compromising your hearing. It has really crunchy nasty tone but also a really deep full tone as well. This amp sound amazing with any kind of guitar running through it. It gets a really good Jimmy Page Slash kinda tone. With that wild kinda guitar tone.

The Marshall Vintage Modern………………………………….. This is THEE amp. If you have ever seen a picture or a guitar player with walls of amps behind them chances are they were Marshalls. With the unmistakeible writing on the amps and the gold and black amps that have graced every stage. This is that amp that has captured the tone of every guitar player from Hendrix and Clapton to Eddie Van Halen to Kirk Hammet. It is a 100 watt all tube head. This picture or any picture of this amp cannot do it justice. The one in the picture has purple tolex as apposed to the normal black. Every guitar i have played through this amp sounds amazing. From a squire telecaster to a 59’ Les Paul, every guitar sounds like its a custom shop guitar.

In the late 1970’s a new type of guitar player was comming into the music sceen. Influnced by the guitar slingers of the 60’s and 70’s; they played faster and louder. This emerging style of guitar playing calle for a new guitar. Charvel guitars were that guitar. The original hot rod guitar or known as the “superstrat”, Charvel changed guitars forever. Stripping the guitar down to one humbucker and a strat tremelo (later being replaced by Floyd Rose tremelo systems) The beggining of this style of guitar playing was brought on in the 1978 most famously by Eddie Van Halen.

In the 1980’s guitar players like Warren DeMartini, Jake E. Lee, George Lynch, Eddie Ojeda, Richie Sambora, Vinnie Vincent and others went on to make these guitars famous.

People come into Napa Music Supply asking about different tones all the time. They come in looking for different amps and different guitars or string or picks or this that and the other thing. The first question i always aks is “What kind of tone?”. Do you want heavy metal tone? Do you want rockn roll tone? Do you want country tone? Then i usualy move onto guitar players. Jimmy Page, Slash, Dimebag Darrel, Chet Atkins all thoes dudes. Then if all that fails we move onto sounds…. sounds like *chug chug* or *twang dang* or *womp woo*. The sounds can continue for many minutes. Many mpeople come in with a specific amp that will give them what they are looking for. Some people come in with no idea. People come in with a sound that they hear in there head hoping to find it. People will sit for hours playing different amps with different guitars with different pick ups looking for that sound that tickles the sweet spot in your ear. People can look for years and years for the tone. But when people find it, when they really find that sweet sweet tone they have been hunting; they remind of me of a kid on Christmas morning. I am lucky enough to get to work in a wonderful guitar shop that has many amazing amps. I just thought i would take some time to show you some amps that really sound amazing!!!
